1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 2 cups white sugar 3 eggs 1-1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda Pinch of salt
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar, using an electric beater. Then beat in the eggs, bananas, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add it to the creamed mixture and stir it together with a wooden spoon. Pour the batter into a greased, 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. pan. Bake at 350 degrees (oven preheated) for 25 minutes or until done per the toothpick test. Cool.

For the frosting, cream the butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl, using an electric beater. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating the mixture with an electric beater. Add the vanilla and beat some more. Then spread over the cooled bars.
